Demand for Blepharoplasty continues to increase
Last year, it was the most requested cosmetic procedure for men to have, and was second for woman behind breast enhancement surgery.
A leading cosmetic surgeon has surmised that this is due to the demand from the public for more subtle cosmetic surgery procedures, which include facelifts and of course, blepharoplasty.
People in 2014 were looking for a more refreshed and youthful appearance, as opposed to more significant and conspicuous alterations.
The loss of elasticity in skin associated with ageing is what causes the skin around the eyes to sag, causing the formation of these “eye bags”.
This tends to be the first part of the face where aging starts to show due to the skin being more delicate. In conjunction with other non-surgical anti-ageing procedures such as Dermal Fillers, a more youthful and fresh appearance can be achieved.
A typical candidate for Blepharoplasty tends to be aged 35 and over, and the effects tend to last seven year on the upper lid, when repeat surgery can be performed if desired. However, the lower lid generally does not need to be redone.
