Superfan invests £150k on plastic surgery to transform himself into lookalike of Shakespeare
A writer from China has invested in a series of plastic surgery procedures to make him look like his all-time hero – the one and only William Shakespeare.
The dedicated superfan, Zhang Yiyi, who is 34, spent an impressive £151,000 on operations to assist in his efforts to achieve his long-desired dream of looking like the renowned Romeo and Juliet playwright.
Yiyi opted for a series of procedures on his nose, eyes, and lips, and now fans say he bears an uncanny resemblance to the poet.
One commentator, Na Peng from Beijing, was quoted as saying: “I think he has an excellent physical likeness to Mr Shakespeare”.
Shakespeare’s famously bald head is something Yiyi has so far been unable to emulate, but he has now grown his hair much longer to aid the resemblance.
The accomplished writer decided to save for the operations just three years ago, putting aside royalties from his book sales to pay for his surgery.
