Increasing numbers of men opting for breast reductions with age and obesity going against them
More and more men are getting something off their chest – their man boobs. Demand for “moob jobs” has risen by a staggering 50% in just six months. Male breast reduction, called gynecomastia, is now in the UK’s top ten (9th) most popular cosmetic procedures, according to private healthcare search engine WhatClinic.com.
Unsurprisingly, age and obesity are the most common factors related to the causation of man boobs. However, alcohol, drugs and anabolic steroids all trigger hormone imbalances which leads to them.
Female breast augmentation is the most common plastic surgery treatment, up 98%. Liposuction claimed second spot, with WhatClinic inquiries up 103%.
Rhinoplasty moved up to third place, up 87%, while eyelid surgery, fat transfer, and ear reshaping are also among the top 10 favourite procedures. By contrast, bum implant requests have decreased, with demand rising a lowly 15%. Furthermore, nipple reduction inquiries suffered a 36% downward turn.
The fastest growing op was full abdominoplasty, which involves removing excess skin and fat from the waist. Requests for information hurtled up to 264% for this particular procedure.
