Plastic surgery trends for 2016
With this year nearly over, people are already looking forward to what 2016 has in store for them. This includes cosmetic surgeons identifying the procedures that the most people are looking to have done.
The trend of moving away from larger chests towards a larger buttocks started a few years ago, thanks to rise in fame of celebrities such as Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian.
According to a survey by the website RealSelf, twice as many doctors said their customers were seeking a smaller enhancement than in years gone by.
California based Dr. Lavinia Chong said in the survey, “we’re no longer opting to supersize our French fries or our breast implants”.
It is a family member of Kim Kardashian who has helped spark interest in bigger lips, with her half-sister Kylie Jenner responsible for another predicted 2016 trend.
30 per cent of dermatologists and 43 per cent of plastic surgeons reported that they received more requests about lips in 2015 than the previous year, and this is expected to continue well into 2016.
The trend in breast reductions are also being linked to Modern Family actress Ariel Winter, who we reported on earlier this year when she had a breast reduction at the age of 17.
68 per cent of surgeons also say they are expecting patients requesting neck and chin work in 2016, in order to boost self-confidence when taking selfies!
