Five plastic surgery facts we learnt in 2015
Lip fillers that use hyaluronic acid are the most natural ones you can get, and of course they are temporary. If you are not pleased with your results, hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the lip filler. There’s also a chance that if you stop getting lip fillers, your lips could remain naturally fuller as they kickstart HA production in that area.
Big bums are in
Thanks to celebrities like Jen Selter (Queen of the Belfie) and Kim Kardashian, big bums are in! The Health Site reported that 45 per cent of all bottom enhancing surgeries in 2015 were inspired by Kim Kardashian, and it doesn’t look as if it is going away anytime soon.
Breasts are still better!
It may be of little surprised, but BAAPS (The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) reported that breast augmentation still holds the top spot for the most popular surgery among women, with 8,609 procedures being carried out in the UK alone in 2014.
However, one surgeon reported that he saw a 100 per cent increase in breast augmentations in the first half of 2015 alone.
Men and surgery
The BAAPS revealed that the surgery most men are craving is eyelid surgery, which has overtaken nose jobs for the top spot. Many men may claim to not care about their appearance, but we know better!
Women and surgery
Men’s surgery may be getting more popular, but BAAPS found that women underwent 91 per cent of all cosmetic procedures in 2014. The percentage was expected to be high, but that is something else!
