Ex-Liverpool football star Didi Hamann boasts new hair transplant in time for new TV punditry role
It was recently revealed by the former Liverpool and Germany midfielder that he has opted to have some cosmetic surgery carried out before he takes up a new role in the world of football analysis following his retirement from the beautiful game.
The ex-Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Germany ace who is regularly seen on the BBC’s Match of the Day, as well as Sky Sports chose to have the hair transplant to repair his receding hairline.
The 42-year-old, has made it known that he started going bald around eight years ago, and has now become the latest footballing star to take advantage of a hair transplant after he found inspiration from Man United’s Wayne Rooney.
After having 4,000 hairs transplanted into his temples and hairline, Didi said: “It has made a massive a difference.
“It is a such a simple procedure. You are in and out in a day and the results can have such a positive impact on a person’s self-confidence.”
He said: ”I have always liked Wayne both as a player and as a human. I remember thinking when he had his hair done, ‘Good for him – he wants to look better and isn’t afraid to tell the world about it’. I’m the same. I am happy to go public and make clear that you can really benefit from giving nature a helping hand.”
He added: “It didn’t bother me too much when I was still playing but obviously my career now is in the media and I’m more aware of my appearance and want to look my best. You owe it to the viewer to really take care of your appearance.
“I have seen how the technology has developed and there are now simple ways you can address the problem and restore your lost hair.”
