Carol McGiffin has revealed a brand new look
Former Loose Women panellist Carol McGiffin has revealed a brand new look from cosmetic procedures after her recent battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 2014 and was given the fantastic news of being all clear in September but admitted that her appearance was bothering her after having a mastectomy.
The outspoken former panellist has revealed that she has had a variety of procedures after she felt like ‘an old tramp’. She carefully considered a surgical facelift and decided that Botox was the better option for her at this time as well as having reconstructive breast surgery.
She said of her cosmetic procedures:
“I’ve had [Botox] done because I still really want to have a facelift, but I’ll do anything I can to avoid it. I think it’s insane to volunteer for surgery – proper cutting-up-your-face surgery. I just want to try and look my best. I don’t make enough effort. I look like an old tramp.
I’ve had two sessions now and I think I’ll just have it done little and often. Once you start, you’ve got to keep it up. It’s addictive. I keep thinking, ‘I could just have a little bit more there, a little bit more there, a little bit more there’.”
It seems she may have learnt from her time on Loose Women where some of her fellow presenters and guests have gone a bit too far with the cosmetic procedures, but she hasn’t ruled out more non-surgical procedures in the future, adding:
“I’ve got to be careful not to go too far. I won’t go too far. I wasn’t going to but it’s odd … when I had the mastectomy [in 2014], it didn’t bother me at all.
The longer I have to look at it, the more it bothers me. I thought: ‘What shall I have done? Boobs or face?’ And I’ve decided to have my breasts done… So I’ve got to find an alternative [to surgery] to fix my face up.”
