10 Essentials for your overnight stay
Once you’ve taken the first few steps towards having your cosmetic procedure, had your consultations and booked your tummy tuck surgery with us, one of the next things to think about is what you will need to pack for your stay in the clinic. Most of these will be centred on making you feel comfortable; here are ten of the most important things to remember:
After your surgery, you will not want a lot more than to be warm and comfortable, and probably to sleep! Bringing your own dressing gown can help you to feel a little more at ease in the clinic and a little more at home.
Warm toes will make that first trip down the hall or to the bathroom that little bit easier after your procedure. And who needs an excuse to dig out those fluffy bed socks and enjoy a little tootsie luxury?
Pack loose clothing that is not going to restrict your movement. Choose your favourite material or print to make you feel cosy and at ease, whilst also making sure that it is loose fitting and easy to put on and take off while your body is feeling a bit tender.
We all know there’s nothing worse than matted locks, so make sure to bring a nice soft brush to tame those tresses and help you to feel yourself again. Don’t forget a hairband too, we would recommend an Invisibobble for comfort and to keep your hair out of the way.
Most people don’t enjoy the feeling of a dry, ‘just woken up’ mouth so a toothbrush and some minty fresh toothpaste cannot be forgotten, an absolute must!
Once your procedure is complete, it is likely you will feel a little fragile and facing the shower could feel like a mammoth task. A pack of nice refreshing wet wipes will give you that fresh feeling without exhausting you of energy.
If your procedure required an anaesthetic, lip balm will be essential as they can often dry up while you snooze. Soften up those lips before you leave and prepare for the smile when you see the results of your surgery!
Hands, face, heels, elbows. It’s always good to be prepared for any dry skin. Feeling soft and moisturised will help you to feel like you again after your procedure, as well as boosting that fresh feeling.
This will be really handy for noting down any questions you may have about your procedure. Make a note of your medications and emergency numbers. You may even find a spark of imagination to write a short story inspired by the life changing results of your procedure. Don’t forget a pen!
It’s always nice to remember what makes us happy, so pack a picture of your family, something that reminds you of your kids, that blanket that you always wrap up in on the sofa, or whatever makes you feel good.
The most important thing when packing is just to pack what is most important to you. Pack the things that are going to help you to relax, feel at home and at ease to aid you in your recovery. Keep this in mind and you will naturally pack everything that you will need for your journey to a better you, with us!
