The rise of the rhinoplasty procedure
There has been a rise in rhinoplasty procedures across the UK as people aim to squash their insecurities by going under the knife to recreate the noses of some the world’s most beautiful women.
A 15% rise in rhinoplasty procedures in 2016 occurred, with the Duchess of Cambridge surprisingly being the main catalyst in this rise as women and men seek to replicate the monarch’s ‘perfect nose’.
It’s become so popular that it’s now referred to as ‘The Duchess’ and is a straight edged nose with a 106-degree nasal tip rotation which falls into the mathematical equation for the perfect nose that has to be between 104 and 108 degrees in their orientation, with the shape befitting both males and females.
Most requested noses:
- Duchess of Cambridge
- Scarlett Johansson
- Angelina Jolie
- Jennifer Lopez
Harley Street facial cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva revealed his belief behind the rise in the procedure saying:
“Kate is one of the most beautiful women in the world but it is her nose that both men and women want to replicate. It defines her beauty and is one of the reasons why rhinoplasty has never been more popular. It is the most common facial plastic procedure but it is also the most sophisticated.
“It is a complex mix of technical detail and artistry as each patient has different facial characteristics which influence a good result such as sex, age, face shape, expectations and the patient’s idea of beauty.”
